India and Chad orphanages go solar
In our continuing efforts to make our programs more sustainable, we've now installed solar powered inverters at our India & Chad orphanages. In India, our children will have fans and lights during the upcoming scorching-hot months of the South Indian summer, when both sunlight and power outages are in abundance! In the cooler months it will help to lower our electric bill. In Chad, solar is providing fans & lights, plus a cell phone charging business to help multiply our funding. (Yes— power outages are so frequent and prolonged that there is a business opportunity in charging cell phones!) We hope to expand our solar initiative in the months ahead to further decrease our dependency on the sporadic local grids while also lowering our operating expenses. The children thank you for making this possible!Take action: [ make a donation today to help expand our solar initiatives ]
